Explanation:
Cardboard bedding comes in a variety of formats, although shredded cardboard is perhaps the most common. It is similiar to paper bedding, but holds its form better when wet. It also does not compress as much as paper, so provides better insulation and protection from a hard floor underneath.
Paper is dust free and in general horses will not eat it (an advantage over some other types of bedding).
